About a decade ago, the Ryder board wanted CEO Robert Sanchez to focus on innovation and how to progress the company beyond the core strategy and services that had kept it alive for decades. TRUCK DRIVERS FACE LAYOFFS IN PA

Hundreds of truck drivers will be facing layoffs starting in August when food distributor United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) shutters their Pennsylvania facility. According to a WARN document filed with Pennsylvania labor authorities in June 2025, “Rhode Island-headquartered UNFI plans to shutter a distribution center located at 4255 East Independence Drive in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.” According to PennLive, the closure will result in layoffs for 716 workers, including 172 truck drivers.
