According to people familiar with the matter, Amazon.com Inc. is scheduled to let go corporate jobs in several key departments, including “logistics, payments, video games and the cloud-computing unit.” Reuters has reported that the terminations could affect as many as 30,000 jobs.
The U.S. Postal Service is putting on free hiring events on November 7 and November 8, for positions in the Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties “to help future employees create their online profile and immediately start applying for postal positions.” As part of its newly minted 10-year transformation and modernization plan, “the Postal Service aims to build a more stable and empowered workforce.”
